With the retirement of their previous accountant and their internal Financial Director at the same time, Touch of Ginger (TOG) found themselves with a potentially large gap in the finance function of their business that needed to be rectified quickly to ensure the business continued to run without interruption.
Approach
To support the TOG team externally, CKLG first transitioned their accounting system from Sage Desktop to Xero, enabling real-time data access and better financial decision-making.
We streamlined and automated daily accounts data entry, freeing staff to focus on other critical business areas. Bank feeds were set up for multiple accounts for daily bookkeeping, and Brightpay payroll software was integrated with Xero for automated monthly journal entries by department.
We reviewed current processes to maximise Xero’s benefits and identify necessary custom reports. A timeline was established for a smooth transition, and the CKLG team provided onsite training to ensure TOG’s staff were confident with the new processes.

Since their move to CKLG, they have addressed all their identified issues and found considerable efficiencies.
Benefiting from a streamlined finance function and integration to Xero, they have gained a greater insight into their financial position and business performance, with improved monthly financial management reporting and cash flow forecasting. This allows them to make strategic business decisions based on actual numbers.
