Assistant Manager / Manager
Permanent | Full time (35 hours) | Hybrid & flexi-time working
CKLG Accountants & Chartered Tax Advisers, based outside Cambridge, are looking for someone with a strong background in Personal Tax to become a permanent addition to their Tax team. This position comprises private client compliance and advisory work. You will be working as part of a team receiving ongoing support from the existing team members. Hybrid and flexi-time working are very much part of the culture.
You will work on an interesting and varied portfolio of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs (EIS/SEIS/VCT), landlords, self-employed individuals, and internationally mobile individuals. You will also be working on HMRC Enquiries and Disclosures and 60-day CGT Returns. Advisory work is broad and varied and includes planning around IHT, CGT, Trusts, Property holding structures, residency, and taxation of employee share awards / options.
CKLG will consider applications from candidates who are qualified by experience and from those who are members of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), or Chartered Institute of Tax (CIOT).
At this level you would be responsible for, and be the primary contact on, a full client portfolio. You will report to the Director and senior management but will have autonomy over your day-to-day work and manage your own workload. Once you are established in the position you would be expected to review work prepared by junior members of staff and be involved with taking meetings / calls with potential new clients.
The vacancy is for a full-time position, but we would consider applicants wanting to work a four-day week.

Graduate Tax Trainee
Permanent | Full/ Part time | Hybrid & flexi-time working
CKLG Accountants and Chartered Tax Advisors, based on the outskirts of Cambridge, are seeking a graduate to join their Tax team on a permanent basis. This role will primarily involve private client tax work, including Tax Return compliance. As you progress in your career, there will be opportunities to take on tax advisory work across various technical areas.
We offer the chance to gain qualifications with the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT). Our comprehensive study support, combined with relevant practical experience, will help you achieve your professional qualifications.
You will work on a diverse client portfolio within a supportive team, receiving guidance from directors and other team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach. Attention to detail and a conscientious work ethic are essential.

Trust Tax Executive
Permanent | Full/ Part time | Hybrid & flexi-time working
CKLG Accountants & Chartered Tax Advisers, based outside Cambridge, are looking for someone with a background in Trusts & Estates, or somebody with a private client background who wants to specialise into this area, to become a permanent addition to their Tax team. This position comprises Trust & Estate compliance work, and the potential to be involved with advisory work. You will be working as part of a team receiving ongoing support from the existing team members. Hybrid and flexi-time working are very much part of the culture. We would consider full or part time applicants (minimum 3 days a week).
You will work on an interesting and varied portfolio of Trust and Estate clients, which will include Annual Trust/Estate Tax Returns and Accounts, Inheritance Tax reporting, Trust Registration Service along with general Trust administration. The client base varies from smaller standalone Trusts/ Estates to large family groups. You may also be working on HMRC Enquiries and Disclosures and 60-day CGT Returns.
CKLG will consider applications from candidates who are qualified by experience and from those who are members of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), or Chartered Institute of Tax (CIOT) or Society of Trust and Estate Practioners (STEP). We are happy to accept candidates who are part way through their studies and would provide ongoing study support, alongside practical experience to help you achieve your professional qualifications.
