Adopting ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards that measure how green your business is beneficial to the environment, the wider community and potentially, your bottom line!
The three core pillars of ESG are:
• Environmental — how does your business minimise its impact on the environment?
• Social — how does your business affect your employees and society as a whole?
• Governance — how good are your business’s governance and risk management strategies?
Together, these three factors can tell you, your customers, and potential investors how prepared your business is for the future.
In 2021, the IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) found that 93% of global respondents said the pandemic had influenced their views on sustainability. And over the past year, environmental issues have become even more important. Their February 2022 survey of 16,000 global consumers found that more than half (51%) of respondents say ESG is more important to them today than it was 12 months ago. Consumers’ actions are starting to match their intent.
