The Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, has asked the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) to publish an economic and fiscal forecast on 3 March 2026, which will be accompanied by a statement to Parliament.
As outlined in the Budget, this Spring forecast will provide an interim update on the economy and public finances, rather than assessing the government’s performance against the fiscal mandate.
While this suggests the forecast is unlikely to lead to changes in tax policy, we will not know for certain until the forecast is released and the Chancellor has responded.
