At CKLG, one of our core values is to support charities and local groups. We are proud to support charities and not-for-profit causes, especially those linked to our incredible team. Our employees are not only talented tax and accounting specialists, but they are also community-minded individuals with a strong focus on charity and fundraising.

Every year, we invite the team at CKLG to nominate a charity for us to support, they then vote for their preferred charity for that year. We also actively support a number of smaller local initiatives that make a difference in the lives of those around us. In the current economic climate, our focus is on supporting local families, charities, and community groups who need extra help.

Charity of the Year 2023: The Royal Papworth Hospital Cambridge

In 2023 our charity of the year was The Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, a specialist heart and lung hospital, located on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus in Cambridgeshire, England. The hospital is a world-leading cardiothoracic transplant centre and the biggest in the UK, having carried out more heart and lung transplants in 2019/20 than any other hospital. The Hospital is run by Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Through bake sales, sponsored walks and Secret Santa donations we raised a total of £584

Charity of the Year 2024: Caring Together

In 2024 the team nominated Caring Together as our charity of the year. Caring Together is a local charity dedicated to providing vital support to unpaid carers across East Anglia. When we first met Zoe and the team at Caring Together, we were deeply moved by the incredible work they do to ensure unpaid carers feel supported both emotionally and practically.

Unpaid carers, whether young or old, often bear an immense burden. Many juggle work or school alongside their caring responsibilities, which can be overwhelming and isolating. Caring Together helps to alleviate that pressure by offering guidance, resources, and much-needed emotional support.

Since January 2024 we have raised £1,341.00

Ongoing Support for Local Initiatives and Families

Alongside our charity of the year partnership, we are also involved in several local community projects. In these challenging economic times, we have decided to focus on support for small charities and community groups that are closest to us. This may take the form of sponsoring local events, fundraising for neighborhood charities, or directly assisting families in need. We believe that by working together, we can build stronger, more resilient communities.

In recent years we’ve contributed to various school projects by providing maths equipment and laptops to enhance learning. We’re proud to continue sponsoring Cambridge Young Cricketers U15 girls’ team kit and provide children’s Christmas gifts for the annual Cambridge Bikers Toy Run to Addenbrookes. Additionally, we’ve donated to Red Hen’s “Feed a Family in Need this Christmas” appeal to help those in need during the holiday season.

At CKLG, we believe that giving back is not just an act of charity—it’s a reflection of who we are. By working together, we can make a lasting difference in our local communities.
