At CKLG, our people are at the heart of everything we do. This month, we’re excited to introduce Raven, one of our talented Tax Executives, whose meticulous approach and client-first mindset ensures a smooth and stress-free tax season for every client.
Raven joined CKLG in July 2025 as part of the Tax Team. A typical day involves plenty of focus and attention to detail. “Most of my time is spent using our tax return software and maintaining internal documentation,” she explains. “I also prepare accounts, which keeps things varied.” She advises a wide range of clients, including investors, sole traders and landlords with multiple properties.
Her passion for tax grew during a university accountancy internship, fuelled by a love of Excel. “I enjoy the satisfaction of seeing pieces of information click together or spotting something that isn’t immediately obvious,” Raven says.
Since joining CKLG, Raven has been studying for the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification and enjoys being more involved with clients. ATT-qualified professionals bring up-to-date tax knowledge, practical advice, and a commitment to high ethical standards, and working with someone pursuing ATT certification gives clients confidence that their tax matters are handled accurately, efficiently, and with integrity.
One of her proudest achievements this year has been completing several large and complex returns, often involving non-residence and foreign investment policies with technically complex information.
Her top tip for clients? Keep communication open with your Tax Adviser all year round. “Changes in your personal or professional situation can have a big impact on your tax position,” she explains. “Once we know, we can advise on any liabilities in advance so you can plan ahead.”
Raven also thrives in the supportive, collaborative environment at CKLG. “Senior staff are always willing to listen to my thoughts, and colleagues are happy to help, even when they’re busy,” she says.
Beyond work, she enjoys connecting with the team through volunteering, fundraising, and social events.
